Daniel Isaac - President and Owner
|
Making a difference has been a long time personal principle of Dan. As the owner of a small business (fifteen to twenty employees), he strove to make the customers successful, while treating employees fairly. As a commercial lender for a statewide bank, helping the customer succeed, or perhaps avoid an error, were satisfying byproducts of the job. Now, with the formation of DHI Management Consulting, the client's success is the entire focus of Dan's effort, rather than a byproduct.
A graduate of Bates College, Dan began working at Androscoggin Savings Bank in 1978, filling a variety of different positions before becoming a Commercial Lender. In 1985 Dan moved to a position as a Commercial Lender for Key Bank, advancing to the position of Vice-President and Regional Commercial Lender. The insights into the management of small business from the lending perspective, and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern Maine, led to a decision to leave banking and become a business owner.
In April, 1991, Screen Printing Company was purchased and later renamed C.P.S., Inc. (Commercial Printing Services). Over the following twelve years, right up to the time of its sale, C.P.S. served to be a valuable educational experience for the do's and don'ts of management, and the strengths and weaknesses of its owner. Dan believes that utilizing that accumulated knowledge and perspective with other small business owners can help them to better achieve their goals.
Long involved in a variety of community organizations, Dan is currently a Director of VNA Home Health Care, as well as a member of its Finance Committee. DHI is a member of Professional Consultants of Maine, Turnaround Management Association, Maine Businesses for Social Responsibility, the Portland Chamber of Commerce, and the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce.
